Choose the Right Velocaption Workspace

Pick the workspace by the job

Velocaption is easier to navigate when you start from the job you need to finish, not from a feature list.

You do not have to record inside Velocaption. Start from iPhone clips, camera footage, screen recordings, or a Finder folder, then choose the workspace that matches the next step.

Use Recorder when

You need to capture a window, webcam, microphone, or system audio. Recorder reads available sources out of the box, then lets you plan scenes, record multiple takes, use teleprompter notes, and route the best take to cleanup or captions.

Use Silence Remover when

You already have footage and the main problem is pacing. AirDrop iPhone clips to your Mac, multi-select files from Finder, and drop them in. Silence Remover analyzes the mic track, marks quiet regions, and lets you cut or restore sections before captioning.

Use Captions Editor when

You need the finishing pass: transcript review, subtitles, translations, reusable text styles, overlays, animations, sound, background music, layouts, or final video export. This is the workspace for turning a clean recording into a finished clip.

Use Batch Utilities when

You have multiple files that need the same operation: captions, audio extraction, Portrait Box conversion, or background-noise cleanup. Use it for folders of iPhone clips, course videos, podcast recordings, and rough assets before you pick the clips to finish.
