Batch Video Processing Tools

Velocaption includes four standalone utilities for bulk processing video and audio files. Drop files in from Finder, configure settings once, and let the queue run through them one by one before you decide what needs a full edit.

Use batch utilities when the job is repetitive: clean a folder of iPhone clips, generate SRT or VTT files for course videos, extract podcast audio from recorded video episodes, remove background noise before transcription, convert landscape clips to portrait, or prepare rough assets in bulk before opening the best clips in Captions.

How It Works

  1. Open a utility from the sidebar navigation. Four tools are available: Batch Transcription, Audio Extraction, Portrait Box, and Noise Removal.

  2. Add files by dragging them into the queue area or using the file picker. Multi-select in Finder when you want to process a whole folder. Supported formats include MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, WebM, WAV, MP3, OGG, and FLAC (each utility accepts the formats relevant to its task).

  1. Configure settings in the right-hand panel. Each utility has its own options (model selection, presets, background style, strength level), but the layout is consistent: the file queue takes up 3/5 of the screen, settings take 2/5.
  1. Start processing. Files are processed sequentially: one at a time. The active file shows a live progress bar. If a file fails, it gets an error status and the queue moves to the next one.

  2. Collect your output. Processed files are written next to the originals. No separate export step, no temporary folders to clean up.

Key Details

All processing runs locally. Nothing is uploaded. Whisper runs on your CPU, FFmpeg handles media operations, noise removal uses a local DSP pipeline. Your files stay on your machine.

Failed items don’t block the queue. If one file errors out (corrupt file, unsupported codec), it’s marked as failed and you can retry it later. The rest of the queue continues uninterrupted.

Consistent queue UI across all four tools. Once you learn one utility, the others work the same way: drag files in, tweak settings on the right, hit start, watch progress bars.
