Send Recordings to the Editor Without Exporting
After recording, you can send your scenes straight to the silence remover or captions editor: no export step, no re-encoding, no waiting. Or export the raw source files if you want to use them elsewhere.
How It Works
-
Finish recording. After you’ve recorded all your scenes and selected the best takes, you land on the post-recording screen with your routing options.
-
Choose your path. Three options:
- Send to Silence Remover: scenes go to the silence remover with their selected takes. Silence detection runs on the mic track, and removal applies across all sources.
- Send to Captions: scenes skip silence removal and go directly to the captions editor. Webcam footage auto-creates video overlay entries per scene.
- Export: writes the raw source files to a local folder.
- For routing: scenes map automatically. When you send to an editor, each scene arrives with its selected take already attached. The editor knows which screen file, webcam file, mic file, and system audio file belong to each scene.
- For export: files land in a named folder. Export creates a folder named after your project. Each take’s source files are written as-is:
screen.mp4,webcam.mp4,mic.m4a,system-audio.m4a.
Key Details
No re-encoding during routing. The silence remover and captions editor reference your original recorded files directly, so routing stays quick even for longer recordings.
Webcam tracks become video overlays. When routing to the captions editor, each scene’s webcam file is automatically registered as a floating video overlay positioned on the timeline. You can reposition and resize it in the editor.
Export preserves the raw multi-source structure. Exported files are the exact same files the recorder wrote: separate tracks, no compositing. Use them in any external editor that accepts standard MP4/M4A.
