Export Screen and Webcam Separately with Independent Settings
Export Screen and Webcam Separately with Independent Settings
For multi-source recordings, each source gets its own resolution and quality settings. Export your screen capture at native resolution while the webcam exports at 720p: or any combination you need.
How It Works
-
Open a multi-source project. When you open a recording that contains multiple sources (screen + webcam from the recorder), the export panel shows a source selector dropdown. Single-source projects skip this: you get one set of settings directly.
-
Select a source. Use the dropdown to switch between sources. Each source remembers its own settings independently.
- Configure resolution and quality per source. For each source, choose:
- Resolution: Native (original file resolution), 1080p, 720p, or other presets. “Native” skips any scaling.
- Quality: Controls the output bitrate/compression level.
-
Export all sources. Click “Export All” to process every source sequentially. Each source is exported into a shared output folder. Progress updates for each source individually.
-
Check the output folder. Files are named
{project}_screen.mp4and{project}_webcam.mp4for multi-source projects, or simply{project}.mp4for single-source. If a folder with that name already exists, a suffix is appended (_1,_2, etc.) to prevent overwriting.
Key Details
Screen exports without audio in multi-source bundles. When screen and webcam come from the same recording session, the webcam file carries the shared mic audio. The screen export is video-only to avoid duplicating the audio track. This is automatic: no configuration needed.
“Native” resolution skips scaling entirely. Choosing native means the output file matches the source resolution exactly, with no re-encoding for scale. This preserves quality and is faster to export.
Settings persist per project. Resolution and quality choices are saved with the project. Reopen the project later and your per-source settings are still there.
