Send Cleaned Audio to the Captions Editor
Skip the export step. Click “Send to Captions” to route your silence-removed recording directly into the captioning workspace: webcam overlays, timeline offsets, and a background layout are created automatically.
How It Works
-
Finish your silence removal. Delete the clips you do not want, adjust boundaries, and denoise if needed. The “Send to Captions” button appears in the export area for multi-source (bundle) projects.
-
Click “Send to Captions.” The app processes your sources for the captions editor:
- Webcam: Kept clips are merged into one continuous video via FFmpeg concatenation, with the mic audio baked in.
- Screen: Each kept clip is trimmed individually, preserving per-clip resolution.
-
Overlays are auto-created. The bridge builds a
FloatingFaceLayoutandVideoOverlaypair for each scene at the correct timeline offset. The webcam appears as a floating bubble overlay positioned on the canvas: no manual setup required. -
A background is picked automatically. A random built-in background is selected based on orientation (3 landscape variants, 3 portrait variants). You can change it later in the captions editor.
- Start captioning. The captions editor opens with everything in place. Run transcription, edit subtitles, style captions: the cleaned audio with silence already removed feeds directly into the Whisper transcription engine.
Key Details
Available for multi-source bundles only. The “Send to Captions” button appears when the project has screen + webcam sources from the recorder. Single-source imports use the standard export path, then import into the captions editor separately.
Webcam merging concatenates kept clips. Deleted clips are excluded. The result is one continuous webcam video with no gaps: matching the cleaned audio timeline exactly.
Screen clips stay independent. Unlike the webcam, screen clips are not merged. Each kept clip is trimmed individually, which preserves the original resolution of each clip without re-encoding the full stream.
