Find and Replace Words in Subtitles

When Whisper misspells a name or term the same way throughout the video, fix every instance at once. Right-click the word, type the replacement, and all matching words update in a single batch.

How It Works

  1. Right-click the word: find any instance of the misspelled word in the transcript sidebar and right-click it to open the context menu.

  2. Select “Replace all occurrences…”: click the option at the bottom of the context menu. A dialog opens with the current word text pre-filled.

  1. Type the replacement: enter the correct text in the dialog input field. The original word is shown for reference.
  1. Confirm: click the confirm button. Every matching word across all segments updates. Each replaced word gets the _edited flag and preserves the original for individual revert if needed.

Key Details

Matching is case-sensitive and exact. “velocaption” and “Velocaption” are treated as different words. Only exact text matches are replaced.

Every replacement is individually revertible. Each replaced word preserves its original text. Right-click any individual instance and select “Revert to original” to undo just that one replacement.

Works across all segments. The replacement scans every word in every segment, including words outside the visible part of the transcript.
