Add Logo and Image Overlays to Video
Drop a logo, watermark, or any image onto your video canvas. Position and resize it with drag-and-drop, control when it appears on the timeline, and add animations. PNG transparency is preserved.
How It Works
-
Create an image overlay: open the overlay creation dialog and select “Image.” Choose from the built-in asset library or import your own file (PNG, JPG, or other common image formats).
-
Position and resize: the image appears on the video canvas with drag and resize handles. Drag to move it. Pull corner handles to resize. Use the rotation handle to angle it.
-
Set timing: the image overlay has its own timeline track. Drag the edges to control when it appears and disappears. For a persistent watermark, extend it across the full video duration.
-
Add animations: apply enter/exit animations (fade, slide, scale) so the image does not pop in abruptly. A fade-in over ~400ms is common for logos.
- Import your own files: click the import option to load an image from your file system. The image is added to your project’s asset library for reuse.
Key Details
PNG transparency is preserved. Import a logo with a transparent background and it renders correctly over the video content. No white rectangles, no artifacts.
Built-in image library included. Velocaption ships with background images and graphics you can use immediately. These are non-deletable and always available.
Independent timeline track. Each image overlay gets its own track. Multiple images can overlap in time: they layer in creation order.
What’s Next
- Text Overlays: add titles and callout text
- Audio Overlays: add background music
- Video Overlays (PiP): add picture-in-picture video clips
