Global Transcription & Smart Workflows
The main navigation bar now has a global “Generate Captions” action. It scans tracks together, deduplicates audio-based work, and speeds up captioning in larger macOS video editing projects.
Dynamic Project Thumbnails
The new set_project_thumbnail backend command grabs a representative frame during the silence removal to captioning bridge phase.
For projects without video assets, the system falls back to built-in image assets so the dashboard still has a usable thumbnail.
Timeline Performance
Drag handlers inside the timeline are now RAF-batched, and CutPreviewLine moved to a raw subscriber. Timeline manipulation during a macOS video editing session now has less React overhead.
Store updates for captioning segments now debounce merged entity map rebuilds. Overlay sorting also uses strict memoization of the track-order map.
Foundational Refactoring
Rendering now uses optimized OffthreadVideo elements. Overlay deletion also moved to an atomic system with automatic collision clamping, replacing the older cascade-push behavior.
