Multi-Clip NLE & Timeline Refactoring
Timeline architecture updates with block selection, cutting tools, copy and paste, and a new transcription panel.
Timeline Organization and NLE Tools
This release added a section-based track system for the macOS video editing workspace. It supports sacred tracks, track locking and unlocking, vertical reordering, and marquee block selection with AABB hit testing.
You can now split audio, image, or video overlays with universal cutting tools. Use the ‘B’ key for hover cuts, or use the razor tool with its preview line when you need a more deliberate cut.
Intelligent Editing Actions & History
Cmd+C/Cmd+V now works for overlay copy and paste. The editor calculates collision-aware track placement so pasted overlays do not overwrite existing clips. You can also drag multiple selected overlays across tracks while collisions are resolved.
The release also added a centralized, patch-based history system. EditorHistoryPanel shows readable action summaries and supports undo/redo for complex edits, including dedicated history snapshots for automated silence removal operations.
Transcription and Captioning Panel
Inline transcription settings and progress bars now make local AI captioning jobs easier to monitor.
The new word-chip editor handles per-overlay transcription edits: typo correction, multi-select, word deletion, word merging, keyboard shortcuts, and syncing text edits back to timeline TextOverlays.
System Robustness & Refactoring
Under the UI, core engines moved to a string-based trackId system. Shift-click behavior is more consistent, legacy overlay structures now map to per-scene overlays, synchronous state blockers were removed, and 77 old modules were deleted.
