- Per-Phrase Caption Positioning: Take full control of your video captioning with our new independent positioning system. Each caption phrase can now be positioned independently by simply dragging it in the preview window. This sets a custom override that transitions smoothly from the previous position, ensuring professional visual flow. Use the global sidebar sliders for consistent baseline control across your entire macOS video project.
- Unified Animation Preview: Boost your editing efficiency with real-time feedback. Enter and exit animations (Fade, Slide, Scale) for both image and text overlays are now accurately mirrored in the player preview. This provides a true WYSIWYG experience, allowing you to fine-tune your animations without the need for time-consuming test exports.
- Rotatable Text Overlays: Unlock new creative possibilities with rotatable text overlays. You can now fully rotate text elements in both the editor and the final Remotion export. This flexibility allows for more dynamic layouts and expressive designs, making your videos stand out with custom-angled typography.

- Overlay Persistence: We’ve updated our project schemas to guarantee that rotation and specialized style properties are correctly preserved when saving and loading projects. Your creative choices are now safely stored across editing sessions.
- Export Assets Reliability: Fixed a critical issue where image overlays could occasionally fail to appear in exported videos due to local path resolution conflicts. Your exports will now consistently include all visual assets as intended.
- Animation Logic Sync: Resolved a discrepancy between editor mode and export mode that previously caused preview animations to be disabled.
♻️ Refactoring
- Resize Logic: Streamlined the
useResizablehook to improve performance and maintainability. By removing legacy comments and unused internal state variables, the editor remains snappy and responsive. - Interpolation Engine: Developed a unified math utility for caption position interpolation. This shared logic between the real-time React preview and the Remotion rendering engine ensures perfect visual consistency between what you see and what you export.
