Version 3.0.0

Multi-Track Timeline & Noise Removal

Multi-track timeline organization, noise removal, HEVC and H.264 exports, and a redesigned project dashboard.

Timeline and Overlay Structure

Version 3.0.0 restructured the core timeline for larger macOS video editing and captioning projects.

The new multi-track overlay timeline stacks overlays into separated lanes and supports vertical drag-and-drop reordering. Track locking lets you freeze individual overlay tracks to prevent accidental edits while you work on the rest of the timeline.

The new push-right collision resolution also makes overlay placement safer. Dragging an overlay into an occupied range pushes the blocking overlay forward instead of overlapping or deleting it.

Pro-Grade Export & Media Enhancements

  • Deep Filter Noise Removal: Added one-click background noise reduction, available both inside the editor and as a standalone utility.
  • H.264 & HEVC Codec Options: The export settings panel now lets you choose H.264 or HEVC (H.265), depending on compatibility and file-size needs.
  • Percentage-Based Sizing: Image and media overlays now scale relative to the base canvas width, so layouts survive aspect-ratio and export-resolution changes.

App and Project Management

Navigating your library is critical for efficiency:

  • Dashboard Media: Project cards now show video previews and metadata such as duration, clip count, and source media type.
  • Thumbnail Caching: FFmpeg-generated previews are cached so the dashboard does not re-render them every time.
  • Mac Window Behavior: Closing the main window now hides the app to the Dock. Quitting during an active render shows a safety confirmation.
  • System Settings Integration: The setup screen links directly to Camera, Microphone, and Screen Recording permissions in macOS System Settings.
  • Remotion Export Control: The Remotion download can be managed inside the app with a visible progress bar.
